Since moving to Glossop in 2005, I have always loved the great sense of community within the town. Wanting to get more involved, I put myself forward for a seat on the Glossop Vision board, thinking that this would be a great place to input into the development of a vision for the future of the Town.
Sadly this did not prove to be the case, and thus I decided (with fellow vision board member Peter Logan) to set up the Glossopdale Trust, with the aim of “Supporting the economic development of Glossop through the promotion of music and the arts”.
So who am I?
With my wife Janet, I am a resident of Glossop, and for my day job, run BSA Marketing, a marketing company based in the Glossop Gasworks building on Arundel Street. In my spare time, I love walking and cycling in the beautiful countryside around Glossop. I also love eating out, and catching gigs in some of the great pubs in the town, so am really looking forward to the time when these come back on the agenda. I have also been heavily involved (with fellow board members Jay beard and Steve Massey) in organising festivals in the town including the Bankswood and Town Hall Sessions Music Festivals.
All in all, I think Glossop is a great town, and through the work of the Glossop Creative Trust would like to see it put on the map in terms of Creativity Arts & Music.
